What the "Jax Recommended" badge means, and the standards behind every company in our directory.
Jacksonville Local Pros lists a curated set of local companies across six home-service categories. Here's how we decide who appears — and how we describe them honestly.
Every company serves the Jacksonville and Northeast Florida area. Some are based in the city; others serve it from nearby communities like Orange Park or St. Augustine. We describe each company's real service area rather than labeling everyone 'Jacksonville-based.'
We favor companies that treat a service as a genuine specialty — sliding-door companies with dedicated roller and track repairs, garage-door companies with component-specific service, locksmiths with real automotive and smart-lock capability — over general handymen who add a service as an afterthought.
Where a company publishes dedicated pages for specific services, we link directly to them so you land on the exact repair you need. We never invent URLs; when a dedicated page doesn't exist, we link to the genuine services index or homepage.
We write our own plain-language descriptions of what each company does and why it might fit your need. We don't publish fabricated ratings, awards, years in business, licensing claims, guarantees or prices.
A sliding-door section shows sliding doors; a garage-door section shows garage doors. We check what each image actually shows rather than trusting a filename.
The badge is an editorial recommendation to help you start your search — not a certification, warranty, or guarantee of any company's work. We encourage you to review each company directly, confirm details, and make your own decision. Jacksonville Local Pros isn't a party to any work you arrange with a listed provider.
